Gate to Plate

QPod™ combines unique aspects of technology, which will enable it to succeed in the market place.

QPods™ complement many existing systems and businesses by providing new opportunities for growth and efficiencies. In some areas, QPods™ may also displace existing systems. Their market application can be summarised into four main categories.

Warehouse Storage
Land Transport
Sea Transport
Air Transport
bullet
modular, palletised configuration and compatibility with existing storage, handling and transport systems
bullet
more precise temperature control for fresh/chilled cargoes than current systems. Holding perishables in optimum conditions ensures an increased shelf life and provides greater harvesting and marketing options
bullet
provides increased opportunity and flexibility for the movement of less-than-container (LCL) loads. QPods™ can be bulked into one vehicle for transportation and still maintain independent control of their individual LCL cargoes. This enables for example different types of perishables to be transported under different temperatures in the same transport vehicle
bullet
new opportunities to improve distribution efficiency.
bullet
allows perishables to be refrigerated and stored or transported in the same vehicle or area as dry goods
bullet
avoids many of the costs and problems of the traditional "cool chain". Examples include problems with temperature change at cross docking points in the logistics chain. The perishable product inside the QPod™ remains as an integral unit with controlled constant temperature right to the point of sale (i.e. from "gate to plate").
bullet
provides stand-alone storage at peak times of the harvesting season, minimising the need for expensive and under-utilised permanent storage facilities.
bullet
allows some fresh produce currently transported long distances only by airfreight to be transported at lower cost by sea or land freight.
